Doesn't sound very appetizing, but throw in varieties of "Veaty Bites" like "Pandan Chicken" and "Chicken Satay", and it starts sounding a little better. And add to that the fact that each serving is not all that high in calories, and you've got a winning product. Usually, 1/2 a cup comes to about 4 to 5 tablespoons or so, so that's a pretty reliable measurement. Case in point-- 1 cup of &lt;i&gt;kai-lan&lt;/i&gt; is about &lt;b&gt;19 calories&lt;/b&gt;!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mom also made a very nice chicken stew of sorts, with peanuts and potatoes. Didn't have too much of that, since peanuts are chock full of calories, though it is quite a good idea to have a handful of nuts once in a while. I also photoshopped some nifty meal banners (below!) for my posts. For each meal, I'll list the food items followed by the amount eaten and then the total calorie content.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I wonder if I'll be such a perfectionist after a month, or even a week of logging...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh, and another thing-- even though Lose It! has an extensive list of food items and their calorie content, it doesn't have &lt;i&gt;every&lt;/i&gt; single piece of food on the planet. Many times, I guesstimate and pick the next best thing. Moreover, I tend to overcompensate and say I ate more of something than I actually did. Woke up at about 10:30am which pretty much negated breakfast, but since &lt;a href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&amp;amp;q=lose%20weight%20breakfast"&gt;many articles&lt;/a&gt; seem to endorse eating breakfast as healthy and crucial to kick-starting the day (and most importantly your metabolism), I started with 2 Jacob's Cream Crackers and half a glass of orange juice. What? Lady Zebra &lt;a href="http://maurina.wordpress.com/2009/05/12/excapade-regent-square-kiulap/"&gt;had been there before&lt;/a&gt;, so she set up the Facebook invite and gave directions to the rest of us. I love sushi, but I always used to overeat, so was pretty careful this time. I ordered the &lt;i&gt;Tori Katsu &lt;/i&gt;Curry Rice meal which includes a breaded chicken chop, japanese curry gravy and a bowl of rice. I only ate a little of the rice. The rest came from the &lt;i&gt;temaki&lt;/i&gt; wrap I had which I factored into the rice meal. Didn't have that much actually-- A couple of lean, medium-sized lamb chops and three chicken sausages. Oh, and I realized that Coke Light (a.k.a. &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diet_Coke"&gt;Diet Coke&lt;/a&gt;) tastes pretty good and has no calories! That's not to say one should drink a lot of it as it does use a lot of artificial sweeteners. Some say it isn't good for you, and &lt;a href="http://skinnychef.com/blog/artificial-sweetener"&gt;might backfire if you're dieting&lt;/a&gt;. Lotsa food, and I just managed to keep under my calorie budget, though I suspect I may have gone a little overboard. But it's not too bad, since I can easily make up for it on other days. The real drawback is that I'll reach my goal a little later, which kinda sucks now that I think about it. Oh, well! On February 22nd I discovered &lt;a href="http://www.loseit.com/"&gt;Lose It!&lt;/a&gt;, an iPhone app that, amongst other great functions, allows me to log my calorie intake. That started me on the road to losing weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My methods consist of calorie counting (made easy by the app) coupled with at least an hour and a half of &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton"&gt;badminton&lt;/a&gt; three times a week. As such, my starting weight was 85kg, and I am now 75kg. I don't really have an intended goal weight, but I use 65kg as more of a guideline.
